Move Your House To Another Lot!

It's NOT as hard as it sounds, really.

The House of Joy

Pick the house you wish to replicate elsewhere.
You should be able to place a house from residential to comercial and vice-versa.
Using this technique there is no reason you can't move a Downtown store
into your Old Town neighborhood, or even Studio Town, I'd guess.

NOTE: Remember to change designation of lot if necessary, residential to comercial, etc.

The House of Joy

Okay, carefully move mailbox and trashcan if necessary.
Clear the "move_objects on" cheat right away after the move, "just in case".
This is where/when landscaping/levelling should be done too.
Trees, ets. can/will be added later as you may change that look once done.

The House of Joy

Here I find adding "fixed" reference like walkway, should be next.
The walkway being fixed is placed to use as a guide for the walls
and to help you go deeper into the lot whenever possible.
(you can add tiles and remove later too, anything to help in layout)
Just count the grids/empty tiles and begin placing walkway and walls as you go.
Once I established the mailbox and trashcan I did my grids from that point.

The House of Joy

This is where the grids/walkways come into play if you need
to alter some aspect of the house, like outbuildings.
Most moves will be just one, maybe two buildings, but I
thought it was important to show this part too.

The House of Joy

There you have it, no tricks with Paint Shop Pro,
there ARE two House of Joy houses in my game/screenshot now.

Still think you can't do it?

Here's a Downtown shop now in Old Town

Please note some DT things are not enabled for OT it seems but the bldg,
walls and floors and ~most~ objects should be right.
I can't locate yellow phone, fireplug, train set, and the slot machine in Old Town.
This is set as a community lot so you should be able to set up shop here, Lot 73.

Downtown in Old Town

You should have EPs up to HD and HP for this to work right.

These instructions allow a lot of leeway so you can proceed in a way you
feel comfortable. You can even plot on graph paper if you choose.

Download free "graph paper" here.

What I did was download the page and printed it, then scanned it for a .jpeg,
which I can then use in my Paint Shop Pro graphics program.

However, this move was done looking at the pics
and going back and forth with the game running.
Toggling between game and placing game on status bar.
